 History Of The Club

Flinders Park Football Club has a long history of playing district grade football in South Australia. Established in 1927 as Flinders Park Methodist Football Club and were premiers in their 1st year, and continued to win premierships from 1929 to 1932. In 1933, they joined the South Australian Amateur Football League and changed their name to the Flinders Park Football Club.

In 1934 Flinders Park joined the Adelaide & Suburban Football League and went on to win 2 premierships in 1941 & 1946. In 1947 the club joined the West Torrens Football Association and won back to back premierships with a win that year and again in 1948. The following year Flinders Park Football Club re-joined the Amateur League and won another premiership. 1949 also saw the end of their 59 consecutive victories.

Flinders Park Football Club applied to the Woodville Council in 1952 to lease "Jones Estate" the current location of the Flinders Park Oval & Clubrooms.

The club won a premiership in 1956, 20 years passed before they saw another in 1976. They won again the following year in 1977. In 1978 Flinders Park joined the SA Football Association (SAFA) and won another premiership that year and another in 1979. They went on to win 2 more premierships in 1981 & 1983.

In 1996, Flinders Park rejoined with the Amateur League and became D3 Premiers that same year and again in 2000 and 2008.
